IBM Announces ALCS Version 2
ALCS V2 is an enhancement of the Airline Control System/MVS/XA (ALCS/MVS/XA). ALCS
V2 provides an application programming interface which allows applications written for use with
ALCS/VSE V1.4, and TPF V3.1 or earlier releases to be used with little or no source code
changes. Highlights of the new release include:
- SNA multi-systems networks, SNI, X.25, LU6.2, AX.25, ALC, SLC, and WTTY
protocol support.
- Fully automated operations through Netview, through the Netview program-to-program
interface using the SAA REXX command language.
- Full function SAA SQL support using the MVS DB2 call attach facility.
- SAA "C" language support using the IBM C/370 compiler. This support is compatible with
that provided by TPF V3.1 and the TPF Database Facility (TPFDF).
Planned General Availability for the product is April 1992.
